The short explanation of this alert was:

The towering ancient forests of coastal and southwest Oregon are home to some 1,000 wildlife species, including imperiled species like the marbled murrelet and the northern spotted owl, and offer first class recreation opportunities.

But under the Bush Administration, these forests lost their protected status and could be subject to clear cuts.  Use our letter below to ask Interior Secretary Salazar to restore protections to these forests.
