The short explanation of this alert was:

Renewable energy is a critical piece of our clean energy future, and new electric transmission lines will be needed to carry wind and solar energy to customers in cities.  We have the opportunity to ensure that the proposed SunZia transmission lines in Arizona and New Mexico balance wildlands protection with renewable energy production.

BLM has already taken a step in the right direction by identifying new routes that would minimize impacts to wildlands and crucial wildlife habitat, including the Rio Grande River corridor.  Please send a letter to the agency urging them to complete the good work they have begun!
