The short explanation of this alert was:
The Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge is a success story. As the second largest National Wildlife Refuge in the Lower 48, the CMR contains abundant wildlife and recreational opportunities.
We have a responsibility to pass this success story on to the next generation, by urging the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to emphasize wildlife and wilderness protection as it crafts its 20 year management plan for the Refuge. The Refuge, which encompasses 1.1 million acres, has some of the best habitat found anywhere in the United States, and a sensible new management plan is needed to make sure this land continues to be a treasure for all Americans to enjoy.
