The short explanation of this alert was:

Congress acknowledged the exceptional paleontological value of New Mexico's Prehistoric Trackways area by designating it a National Monument last year. However, these lands have also been part of a large off road vehicle event called the Chile Challenge. Thankfully, the Obama administration has instructed the BLM to prioritize protection of scientific and other valuable resources in all National Monuments, but we need the BLM to make this a reality for this new national monument. 

Please join us in telling the BLM we need to find alternate routes for the Chile Challenge that protect the Monument's irreplaceable paleontological resources. And please don't delay - comments are due this Wednesday, February 10th!
