Wilderness clears our air, filters our water, provides home and sanctuary to wildlife, including threatened and endangered species, and is a significant buffer for species facing the effects of global warming. 

For those reasons, it is important that the new administration make protecting wilderness central to its environmental, global warming and energy policies.

There are several steps the Obama administration can take to immediately protect wilderness areas and right some of the wrongs of the past administration.
