In December, the EPA found that global warming pollutants endanger public health and should be regulated under the Clean Air Act. The agency is preparing to write rules that curtail such emissions, but polluters are fighting these limits tooth and nail.

Please vote NO on Senator Murkowski's Joint Resolution (S.J. Res. 26) to gut the Clean Air Act. The Murkowski amendment is an ill-advised attempt to undermine U.S. action on climate change.

This attack on the Clean Air Act would endanger our health and economy, and roll back efforts to deliver strong climate and energy legislation to President Obama's desk as soon as possible. Supporting this resolution would directly undermine the President's efforts to chart a clean energy course for America, instead locking in another generation of filthy, outdated technologies and their negative economic and health consequences.

As you know, scientists agree that we must make real reductions in greenhouse gas emissions now to avoid the worst effects of climate change and protect our natural resources from ongoing climate effects. As you consider legislation to set up additional tools for reducing global warming emissions in the United States, please do not discard the tools that are already in place.
